We had the privilege of visiting Malmö's new state-of-the-art hospital, an impressive project that Skanska has been working on for ten years. They have created 10 new wards, 244 single rooms for care, 23 operating theatres and ICUs for both adults and children. Construction began in 2015 and is scheduled to be completed in 2025, with the first patient expected to be admitted as early as this year.
The hospital, with an area of 108,000 square meters, was built by 700 colleagues, all united around the same goal: "We are involved in building the hospital of the future". A vision, enthusiasm and pride that permeates the entire project. The safety aspect has also been central, with a strong focus on the work environment and the motto "We work safely - or not at all!"
A huge thank you to Amanda Glave, RD23, Project Director at Nya Vårdbyggnaden Malmö, Skanska, as well as Alexander Svensson, Stefan Gren and Tanja Wictor for the fantastic tour. Your exclusive tour gave us all inspiration, new experiences and insights into where the future of healthcare is headed.
